Chosen by God: 2001 Birmingham Conference
by R.C. Sproul
Summary
Few Biblical doctrines provoke Christians to wrestle with reason, engage in heated debate, or hide their heads in the sand as much as predestination. We embrace the sovereign God as an ever-present, all-powerful, and all-knowing Provider and Protector. But we struggle to understand how the sovereignty of God works itself out in our salvation. If He predestines all things and chooses who will be saved, why pray or evangelize? And what about free will and our ability to make choices—such as inviting Jesus to come into our hearts or choosing one career over another?
In Ligonier Ministries’ 2001 Birmingham conference, “Chosen by God,” R.C. Sproul explores he sovereignty of God, predestination, and our ability to make choices.
