Announcing Our Dedicated-Language Website in Swahili

By God’s grace, the church is growing throughout East Africa where Swahili is widely spoken, in countries like Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.

To serve God’s people in these regions and beyond, we have launched sw.Ligonier.org, Ligonier’s dedicated-language website in Swahili. This platform provides an online library of trusted Christian teaching and discipleship resources, with many more in development:

• Freshly translated articles from Tabletalk magazine
• Historic Christian creeds and confessions of faith

With the growth of the African church comes the need for caution as the influences of nominal Christianity and prosperity gospel teaching are simultaneously on the rise. Islam also has a significant presence in the coastal areas of Tanzania, and this influence is extending across Sub-Saharan Africa.

With population growth rising steeply in these regions, Swahili has become one of the world’s major languages, with approximately 87 million speakers. This creates a pressing need for discipleship resources that are faithful to God’s Word to serve generations to come. As more translated teaching from Ligonier becomes available, Swahili-speaking Christians are expressing an earnest desire to learn more about God’s Word and Reformed theology.

Thanks to the generous support of ministry friends like you, sw.Ligonier.org is our twenty-first dedicated language website. As more resources are added, we pray that this expanding library will reach Swahili-speaking church leaders, laypeople, and unbelievers of all ages.

In addition to the Swahili website, we encourage you to share Ligonier’s Swahili social media channels on Facebook and Instagram to help reach more people worldwide with clear biblical teaching. Please pray that this trusted teaching will help Swahili-speaking Christians to stand firm against false teaching and to remain deeply anchored in God’s Word.

The launch of this dedicated-language website in Swahili plays a role in Ligonier’s aim to develop the world’s largest library of discipleship resources that are true to the historic Christian faith. By God’s grace, we are continuing our efforts to make this teaching available in the world’s twenty most-spoken languages, serving more than 80 percent of the world’s population for generations to come.
