R.C. Sproul looks at biblical references and modern testimonies concerning angels. He points out that we are inclined to avoid Scriptures about angels because the concept of an invisible, spiritual realm is so difficult for us to grasp. Nevertheless, he says that when we skip over such sections of Scripture, we cheat ourselves of some of the most marvelous revelation available to us. Dr. Sproul teaches that the function of angels in Scripture is of vast importance. They serve as God’s messengers, ministering spirits, guards, and powerful sentinels. They appear individually, in small groups, and as armies. Although we should not make angels the focal point of our theology, we should not exclude them.
