• History and the Christian Faith Devotional

    2 Thessalonians 1-3

All three of these types of problems still exist in the church today. Determine to stand strong in the face of persecution. Beware of false teachers—be discerning whom you follow. Resist the temptation to be idle. Pray that when the kingdom comes you will be found faithfully working the field God has given you. View Resource

  • The Restrainer Devotional

    2 Thessalonians 2:1–12

Knowing the identity of the restrainer mentioned in today’s passage would indeed be a good thing for our understanding of this text. However, whether or not we are ever clear of the identity of this restrainer, the important point of today’s passage is that we see God’s sovereign control of the return of Christ. For it is God who ordains these signs and who ordains the time of Jesus’ return. Let your trust in His sovereignty sustain you as you hope for the return of our Lord. View Resource

  • Who Is the Antichrist? Devotional

    2 Thessalonians 2:1-17

Read the verses cited above in John’s epistles. How were you antichrist before you believed? What antichrists do you see operating both nationally and locally today? Practically speaking, what can you see in John’s letters that indicates how you should respond to such people? View Resource

  • Confident in Truth Devotional

    2 Thessalonians 2:15

It is hard to be a Christian in a culture that says the only certainty is that there is no certainty. We have a universal gospel that demands allegiance from all people without exception, and we must be clear on this as the relativism around us tries desperately to make us uncertain about the exclusivity of Christ. Pray that you will stand firm for the certainty that salvation is available only in Jesus (John 14:6), and flee any “church” that would try to tell you otherwise. View Resource
