Pre-Conference: Faithful Shepherding

9:00 a.m. 9:45 a.m.

Caring for the Flock

The Apostle Peter exhorts the elders in the church to willingly shepherd those whom God has entrusted to their care, living as examples and not domineering over them (1 Peter 5:1–4). This message will look at the basics of pastoral care and how pastors can faithfully fulfill their calling.

Preach the Word

Among the chief duties of the pastor is to preach the Word of God faithfully at all times, being willing to reprove, rebuke, and exhort with full patience (2 Tim. 4:1–2). This message will remind pastors of this high calling and offer instruction on what it means to be ready to preach the Word in and out of season.

Stand Firm

In our day and age, the church needs pastors who will not be blown about by every wind of doctrine and who will not compromise with the world, choosing instead to stand firm in the truth and abound in the work of the Lord (1 Cor. 15:58). This message will help pastors understand what it means to stand firm in the truth.

Don't Grow Weary

Pastoral ministry can be a wearying task, but Paul tells us not to grow weary in doing good and encourages us that we will reap bountifully if we do not give up (Gal. 6:9). This message will encourage pastors not to grow weary in their task but to keep their eyes on Jesus and the reward promised to them for their faithful service.

Conference: The Centrality of the Gospel

3:00 p.m. 4:00 p.m.

Peace with God

There is only one way to obtain peace with God, and that is through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ alone (Rom. 5:1). This message will focus on the role of Christ as the only Mediator who can reconcile God and man, reminding us that salvation is found in no one else.

Miguel Núñez
4:00 p.m. 5:15 p.m.

The Grace in Which We Stand

Salvation is initiated by grace, continued by grace, and consummated by grace. From beginning to end, we stand in grace (Rom. 5:2). This message will help us understand what it means to stand in grace and rejoice in the hope of God’s glory.

Questions & Answers

8:15 p.m. 9:30 p.m.

The Purpose of Suffering

Believers enjoy many benefits through their union with Christ, but we will also undergo suffering in various forms before our Lord returns. This message will explain that God uses this suffering to produce in us godly character and hope, and to make real the love He has poured in our hearts (Rom. 5:3–5).

God's Great Display of Love

God’s greatest act of love for His people consists in His giving up His only begotten Son to die for their sins. This message will explore how the death of Christ most clearly shows God’s love because it is a death for undeserving sinners at just the right time (Rom. 5:6–8).

Panel Discussion: The Gospel in Latin America

11:30 a.m. 12:30 p.m.

Saved by the Life of Christ

We are rescued from God’s wrath by the death of Christ and granted salvation by the life that He gives us (Rom. 5:9–11). This message will look at what it means to be saved from the wrath of God and the nature of the new spiritual life that God gives us through His Spirit.

Sugel Michelén
2:30 p.m. 3:45 p.m.

The Disobedience of Adam

We sin because we are sinners. Because Adam was the federal head of all humanity, his disobedience resulted in all mankind (except Jesus) being born in a state of sin. This session will show how Adam’s sin puts us in a state in which we need the gospel of Christ and how death proves that even those without God’s special revelation are guilty of breaking His law (Rom. 5:12–14).

Stephen Nichols
4:15 p.m. 5:30 p.m.

The Obedience of Christ

Because we are declared guilty lawbreakers before God’s heavenly courtroom, we must be declared legally righteous to inherit eternal life. This message will demonstrate that we are justified by the perfect obedience of Christ, that His one act of obedience encompasses the entire course of His life and death for His people (Rom. 5:15–21).
