Having been redeemed in Christ Jesus, we are to present ourselves to Him as living sacrifices, experiencing the ongoing transformation of our minds according to the Word of God. This message will look at our calling as living sacrifices according to Romans 12:1–2, exploring what it means to give ourselves to the Lord as offerings as we are changed by the renewing of our minds.

Being united to Christ, believers are also united to each other in one body, the church. This union requires God’s people to think rightly about themselves so that they can serve one another. Guided by Romans 12:3–5, this message will help us understand what it means to be part of the body of Christ, emphasizing how thinking about ourselves with sober judgment is necessary for living in community.

God has given His people spiritual gifts in order to build up the body of Christ in faith and love. Every believer has both the privilege of possessing gifts and the joyful responsibility of using them. This message will consider what Romans 12:6–8 teaches about the gifts that God has given to the body of Christ and how we are to use our gifts for the sake of others.

Genuine love, hospitality, honor, consistent prayer, holding fast to what is good—these are just some of the marks of the true Christian listed in Romans 12:9–13. Because God has given us new hearts and put His Spirit within us, we can increasingly become like our Lord Jesus Christ, bearing the fruit of righteousness and love. This message will assist us in understanding and practicing the evidences of godliness noted in this passage.

The Christian ethic demands that in our interactions with unbelievers, we are to love and bless our enemies, never repaying evil for evil. With fellow believers, we are to weep with those who weep, rejoice with those who rejoice, and live in harmony with one another as we continually pursue humility. This message will look at Scripture’s teaching in Romans 12:14–17 and provide practical guidance on how to love people both inside and outside the church.

The Apostle Paul concludes Romans 12 with an exhortation to seek to live peaceably with all people and to trust in the day of the Lord’s vengeance, trusting Him to ultimately and finally right all wrongs.
