2015 National Conference: Day 2
Today was day two of our 28th annual national conference, After Darkness, Light. You can join the conversation by following the official conference hashtag #ligcon on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Google+.
Below is a summary and several highlights from today:
Jesus Made in America from Stephen Nichols
Stephen Nichols began our day with a message on the person and work of Christ. He challenged us to trust and proclaim the Jesus of Scripture, not a Jesus of our own making.
Whatever Happened to Sin? from Russell Moore
Russell Moore continued by teaching on the role and deception of sin. Further, if we do not understand God’s wrath, we won’t fully understand God’s mercy. He exhorted us to be clear and honest about sin so that we can call people to repentance.
It’s All About Me from R.C. Sproul Jr.
R.C. Sproul Jr. helped us to understand, more completely, that we are creatures made in the image of God. As Christians, we are now God’s children by adoption, and He loves us as His own.
Questions and Answers with Kevin DeYoung, Robert Godfrey, Stephen Nichols, R.C. Sproul, and R.C. Sproul Jr.
I Will Build My Church from W. Robert Godfrey
W. Robert Godfrey explained what Jesus meant when He said that He will “build His church.” In so doing, he encouraged us that the age of the church is not over, and that Jesus is still faithfully building His church today.
Do Not Love the World from Kevin DeYoung
To close day two, Kevin DeYoung looked to 1 John 2:15-17 to help us understand what worldliness looks like and how we, as Christians, can combat it in our lives.
Stay tuned for an announcement on the blog next week when the messages from our 2015 National Conference are available to stream for free.
