We are seeking an energetic, creative, and talented Junior Designer who's excited about honing their skills as part of an in-house creative team. You'll create assets for website rollouts, banner campaigns, e-blasts and social media as well as all manner of print projects. You're confident with details, which is great, because we'll be relying on you to prep files carefully and create neat and tidy packages every time. Changing priorities and deadlines are a reality and you're okay with that. Creativity is more than a job to you, but when you're at work, you're professional. (Full Disclosure: there's a dress code.) You expect to receive constructive criticism and you know how to process and respond to it. You know how to take a punch, because we're not going to like everything you do. We're a small and growing team, so there are great opportunities for you to step up and rise quickly within our ranks. That will happen as you demonstrate the ability to think critically about your assignments. We don't have to spell it all out. You've got this.
Your portfolio shows your versatility and your skills. We understand that you haven't had opportunities to take the lead on flashy campaigns for big brands. That's okay, because even your most modest work demonstrates that you understand and are passionate about the fundamentals of design. You take time to think through composition, typography, and clear communication. (Insider tip: typography is going to make or break your portfolio in our eyes.) You recognize the contours of a brand and know how to work consistently within them. You spend a lot of your free time keeping abreast of emerging design trends, but your design isn't trendy. That's good, because neither is ours. Smart, thoughtful, and timeless is what we're aiming for. We want your help hitting that mark. You know all this already because you've spent time checking out our design language and you're excited to embrace our brand.
Of course you're a Photoshop ninja and your InDesign files are pure gold. You have experience working as part of a team (internships, freelance projects, are all fair game) and you're excited about being part of ours. That excitement is fueled by your desire to do great design work and your love of Jesus Christ and His kingdom. You know what it means to be a sinner saved by grace alone. You're eager to serve with your talents.
