5 Minutes in Church History: A New Weekly Christian Podcast with Stephen Nichols

2 Min Read

Dr. Stephen Nichols, a Ligonier Teaching Fellow, brings his passion for church history and his love for the Reformed tradition to the table as he hosts our new weekly Christian podcast, 5 Minutes in Church History. This is how we describe the podcast on 5MinutesInChurchHistory.com:

_
5 Minutes in Church History_, hosted by Dr. Stephen Nichols, is a new weekly Christian podcast that provides an informal and informative look at church history.

Join us each week as we take a brief break from the present to go exploring the past. Travel back in time as we look at the people, events, and even the places that have shaped the story of Christianity.

Each podcast offers an easily digestible glimpse of how the eternal, unchangeable God has worked in the church over prior generations, and how this can encourage us today. This is our story—our family history.

In the first episode of 5 Minutes in Church History, Dr. Nichols discusses why Augustine begins his classic Confessions with the Latin word, "Magnus," and explains how Augustine's insight can challenge and comfort Christians living in the 21st century. The second episode has Dr. Nichols sharing an intriguing story from the life of John Calvin that offers us encouragement during times of worry. In episode three, we're taken to the grave of John Bunyan to hear the story of a man with a book in his hand. And in episode four, we learn Jonathan Edwards' favorite word.
