Review: So What? Youth Bible Studies
from Keith Mathison May 04, 2013 Category: Book Reviews
I had the opportunity to review three separate studies: Treasuring God's Word, A Study of Romans, and Worshiping God. Each study comes with materials for the students as well as an extensive leader guide. The student materials and the leader guide are attractively put together. The graphics are obviously designed to appeal to the audience, and the content is well organized. Teachers will find these studies very "teacher-friendly." Keep Reading -

From a Symbol of Fear to a Symbol of Faith
from Keith Mathison Mar 22, 2013 Category: Articles
I sometimes wonder how many Christians stop to think about how incredibly odd it is that crucifixes are used as works of art. Crucifixes adorn church architecture, classic paintings, sculpture, and even jewelry. But consider for a moment what a crucifix was originally. It was a means of execution.

from Keith Mathison Nov 05, 2012 Category: Articles

This accusation has been repeated so many times that few make the effort to argue it. Instead, it is simply assumed. Never mind that some of the church's greatest evangelists have been Calvinists. One need only be reminded of men such as George Whitefield, David Brainerd, or "the father of modern missions," William Carey. "Yes," we are told, "these men were great evangelists and Calvinists, but that is because they were inconsistent." But is this true?

Redefining What a Bible College Is and Can Be
from Keith Mathison Oct 25, 2012 Category: Ligonier Academy
Unlike most Bible colleges, RBC is inspired by the model of John Calvin's Academy in sixteenth-century Geneva. This means that RBC focuses on teaching the content of the Bible, but we do not combine that with dispensationalist theology. RBC is self-consciously Reformed. The historical confessions of the Reformed faith (for example, the Belgic Confession, the Heidelberg Catechism, the Canons of Dordt, and the Westminster Standards) express our theology. Keep Reading
