Help Send Thousands of Reformation Study Bibles to Africa

2 Min Read

Our Goal

In 2017, Ligonier Ministries has partnered with the Rosemary Jensen Bible Foundation to send 6,000 Reformation Study Bibles to pastors, church leaders, and students in ten African countries. By 2028, we plan to send and distribute at least 36,000 Reformation Study Bibles. Watch this short video of Dr. R.C. Sproul and Mrs. Rosemary Jensen explaining their heart for reaching Africa.

The Great Need

This region of the world is projected to change dramatically over the coming years, as a young Christian population grows rapidly and the Muslim population increases. Thousands of schools and churches around Africa lack adequate theological resources. There is a theological famine. Reliable study Bibles are practically nonexistent, and Bibles are expensive.

On a recent trip to East Africa, church leaders reminded Mrs. Jensen that even if a study Bible similar to the Reformation Study Bible was available in bookstores, it would cost close to a month's stipend for a pastor.

You Can Help

Thank you for helping us exceed our 2017 goal of $90,000. However, in order to realize the full scope of this project, our goal over the next 10 years is to raise a total of $450,000.

Give God’s Word to Teachers of the Word

This is a unique opportunity to equip the teachers who are instructing the next generation of Christians in the African church. Giving an African pastor a Reformation Study Bible impacts hundreds, if not thousands, of Christians. The theological notes and trusted commentary make the Reformation Study Bible a much-needed companion to those preaching the Word of God in Africa who do not enjoy the resources that we do in much of the developed world. Please prayerfully consider giving generously to this vital outreach.

Dr. Sproul and Mrs. Jensen joined us on Renewing Your Mind last week. Listen as they share their vision for reaching Africa with the Reformation Study Bible.

DONATE NOW

Our policy is to apply gifts given toward a specific program. If we receive more contributions than can be wisely used for a given project, we apply these funds to meet other pressing needs in our outreach efforts. We are committed to stewarding all gifts wisely toward the goal of proclaiming the holiness of God to as many people as possible.
