Deep in the Heart of Texas

June 9, 2008 @ 7:15 AM  |  Posted By: Mel Duncan
"Howdy" from Dallas, Texas where members of the Ligonier team are arriving to be a part of the 36th General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in America. "GA" (as it is known to Jus Divinum enthusiasts) will take place in the Dallas Hyatt Convention Center from June 10-13. This year's theme is "Proclaim the Gospel of Grace."

If you are anywhere near "Big D" this week, come by and see us. Tabletalk magazine editor Burk Parsons and production manager Scott Devor will be there as well as Church Outreach Representatives like myself and Bill Malick. We look forward to meeting and greeting folks at the Ligonier Ministries booth. We will have some R.C. Sproul teaching resources, books, our new resource guide for churches, and lots of copies of Tabletalk for you. Pastor Bill and I may schedule a meeting with our Dallas area friends to talk about church outreach in the Metroplex. In addition to visiting with us there will be several hundred worthy ministries represented in the exhibitor's hall, pretty interesting to get so many organizations in one place.

Another event happening this week with a Ligonier flavor is a seminar led by Reformation Trust author Richard D. Phillips Tuesday June 10th at 2pm in one of the adjacent convention seminar rooms. Rick is the author of Jesus the Evangelist and What's So Great About the Doctrines of Grace? Rick's seminar (along with several dozen others scheduled) is open to the public and will include an open Q&A time.

Tuesday night June 10th at 7pm as many as 4,000 folk will gather for a worship service (with communion) in the main hall. This service is traditionally followed by the election of a Moderator (a man who will preside over the rest of the meetings). An interesting event if you've never seen this kind of thing before.

Stop by our booth to come and see us...deep in the heart.
