• The False Prophet Devotional

    Deuteronomy 13:1–5

False prophets exist in our day insofar as there are many men and women who are claiming to speak for God and yet teach aberrant doctrine. While we must not be contentious over minor matters, we should never be afraid to point out the errors of those who deny or pervert cardinal Christian doctrines. In love may we help those who are in bondage to false doctrines see the essential truths of the Christian faith as taught in God’s Word. View Resource

  • Beware of Apostasy Devotional

    Deuteronomy 13

Of course, we realize that anyone who abandons Christ did not ever have saving faith to begin with (1 John 2:19). Nevertheless, this truth should not make us complacent; rather, it should encourage us to demonstrate the reality of our faith and pursue earnestly the truths of God that we may “inherit the promises” (Heb. 6:11–12). Take time today to pray for your soul, asking the Lord to keep you in the truth and preserve your faith until the end. View Resource

  • A City Offered Up to God Devotional

    Deuteronomy 13:12–18

The church is not permitted to take up the sword against idolaters today, but the destruction of pagan cities in ancient Israel shows us how seriously God takes idolatry. We should be moved when we see others committing idolatry and pray that they would indeed receive Jesus as their substitute so as to escape the wrath that will fall upon all false worship. Are we praying for the salvation of those around us who do not know the Lord? View Resource
