• Judgments on the Nations Devotional

    Amos 1:2-2:3

Unlike the ancient Ammonites, the pro-abortion people in the modern West do not advocate killing pregnant women (though women die every year from allegedly “safe” abortions). Still, because pro-abortion people advocate murdering unborn people made in God’s image, they are guilty of great evil and ask for the end of their nation, for the Lord will not forever abide countries who tolerate such evil. May we all work to end the scourge of abortion on demand. View Resource

  • God and State Devotional

    Amos 2:1

How Christians and churches live out their roles as prophetic voices in the civic process is a matter of some complexity. One thing is clear, however, and that is that believers cannot be silent when babies are aborted, sexual immorality is promoted by the government, legal verdicts are bought and sold, and other matters. The church must call the state to act justly whenever it is failing to do so. View Resource

  • Condemnation for Israel and Judah Devotional

    Amos 2:4–16

Forgetfulness is a major contributing factor to sin for the people of God. When we forget all that the Lord has done for us, it becomes easy to take Him for granted and to commit the very acts He condemns in His Word. If we do not regularly remember and thank Him for His great redemption, we are likely to fall into the sins of the pagans around us, just like ancient Israel did. Let us, as individuals and as a corporate body in worship, meditate regularly on God’s great acts. View Resource
