• Divine Authorship and Authority Devotional

    2 Timothy 3:16–17

Because Scripture is the living and active Word of God, what we have in the pages of the bible is the Lord’s voice. In other words, we are at no disadvantage to abraham, Moses, or the other great figures in biblical history, for we have what they had—God’s speech to His people. Let us not be tempted to think that the believers of ages past had it better than we do, for Scripture clearly reveals to us God’s will and is to be followed just as we follow the Lord Himself. • Truth and It’s Standard Devotional

    Luke 7:1–10

Church history testifies that the church is healthiest when it is committed unwaveringly to the final authority of Scripture for faith and practice. Moreover, we will please God only to the degree that we affirm biblical authority, for if we doubt its authority, we will doubt its truth and relevance to our lives. Let us pray that the Lord would develop in us and in our congregations a firm commitment to the truth of His Word. View Resource

  • Heeding Godly Authorities Devotional

    Proverbs 1:8-9

Matthew Henry comments on today’s passage, “Those are truly valuable, and shall be valued, who value themselves more by their virtue and piety than by their worldly wealth and dignity.” A life of wisdom gained by heeding the godly instruction of parents and others is a far greater adornment than the best jewels money can buy. Such a life evidences the presence of saving faith and will receive the Lord’s commendation, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” View Resource
