The Apostle Paul tells us that there is but one gospel and that anyone who proclaims or believes a gospel that is different from the one God has revealed is under the curse of the Lord (Gal. 1:6–9). What we believe about God and His gospel has eternal ramifications, for if we believe the wrong gospel we will not be saved. This session will explore the importance of getting the gospel right because of how it shapes our eternal destiny, and it will rehearse the essential content of the gospel to help equip attendees to know and proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ.

This panel discussion will consider various aspects of Dr. R.C. Sproul’s life and teaching over the course of his lifetime of ministry.

God redeems us from our fallen world and its desires, but then He sends us back into the world, giving each of us a vocation wherein we serve Him by serving our neighbors, bearing witness to the goodness of our Creator (1 Thess. 4:1–12; 2 Thess. 3:6–12). No matter our vocation, we are to work diligently to serve our neighbors, thereby testifying to the transformative power of the gospel. This session will explore how our present vocations matter for eternity, explaining that we bear witness to the truth of the Lord by working hard and putting others before ourselves in our daily labors.

Isaiah 6 gives us a grand vision of the holiness of God and reminds us that He is “holy, holy, holy.” When the prophet Isaiah saw this grand vision, he cried out because he was a man of “unclean lips.” Because of Isaiah’s sinfulness, a seraphim promptly flew to him, touched his lips with a coal, and pronounced him clean. Like Isaiah, we need cleansing to dwell with God in His supreme holiness. This session will consider God’s holiness and why it matters both now and forever, explaining that God is holy and that He has made us His holy people.

In the beginning, God created the family for His glory, establishing it as a picture of His love for His people and the place where children grow in the nurture and admonition of the Lord (Gen. 2:18–25; Eph. 5:22–6:4). How we live in the family is a testimony to our family members and to outsiders regarding the love of God, and how we treat one another has a lasting impact on how we understand the character of God. This session will look at how life in the family counts forever, encouraging spouses to love one another in order to rightly image God and exhorting parents to love and instruct their children so that they will know and love the Lord.

Ephesians 3:1–13 teaches that God’s eternal plan for humanity is to unite Jews and gentiles as one body of Christ, to bring together people from every tribe and tongue as fellow heirs of God’s glory in the church. What we do in the church today counts forever because it is a foreshadowing of the eternal worship and fellowship we will enjoy when the Lord consummates His plan for the ages. This session will explain that being committed to the church right now matters for eternity, reminding us to love fellow believers and to serve them in the context of the church as an anticipation and preparation for the age to come.

Christians are called not to be conformed to this world but to be transformed by their renewing of their minds so that they will know and do what is good (Rom. 12:1–2). And though we want to conform all of our lives to Christ, Scripture places special warnings on sexual transgressions, telling us that those who impenitently break God’s law for sexual behavior will not inherit the kingdom of God. How we live our lives as sexual beings today matters for all eternity, and this session will address contemporary pressures on Christians regarding sexual ethics while it calls us to live according to God’s revealed standards for men and women.

Right now counts forever because God is in control of all things. He has created a moral universe in which our actions have consequences both now and forever. God can do all things, and none of His purposes can be thwarted (Job 42:2). This knowledge is cause for holy reverence, awe, and peace as we acknowledge God’s work in our lives and in the lives of others. He is the sovereign God, Creator of heaven and earth, and He reigns over His creation in glory and splendor.

Through the folly of what we preach—Christ and Him crucified—God saves those who believe. Preaching is the primary means by which the Lord calls people to faith in Christ and changes their hearts by the power of His Spirit. How and what we preach will open the kingdom to people or create a stumbling block for those who do not know the truth. This session will consider the importance of preaching, stressing that it is God’s means for bringing people to Himself and edifying the saints while calling us to trust in God’s Word, not in our techniques or programs.

The pain of suffering in the moment seems intense and unbearable, but our experience of suffering has lasting consequences beyond our present ordeals. As Romans 5:3–5 tells us, “Suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.” The Lord uses suffering to conform us to the image of Christ and to equip us to persevere in faith until the end. This session will consider the role of suffering in the Christian life and how God works in it to benefit us for eternity.

Christ commissioned His church to preach the gospel to all nations and to teach His people everything that He has commanded them (Matt. 28:18–20). The church is called to preach Christ and to call people to trust in Him, but it is not to stop there. Instead, the church is to make disciples, teaching them what Christ has revealed so that they will persevere to the end and inherit eternal life. This session will consider the importance of discipleship and how our making disciples now has an eternal impact.
