Five hundred years ago, the church was in crisis. Church leaders were morally compromised. The laity was largely ignorant of the Scriptures. Man-made traditions were exalted over God’s Word. The gospel was buried under non-biblical practices.
In these days, God raised up the Protestant Reformers to call the church back to God’s Word and to the truth that we are saved by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. The Protestant Reformation changed the course of history and restored the light of the gospel to God’s people and to the world.
Today, the church is again in need of reformation, which will only come as we remember the insights of the reformers and apply them to the challenges of our day. On October 5–6, 2018, we are hosting a conference in Belfast, Northern Ireland called “After Darkness, Light.” Drs. Sinclair Ferguson, Steven Lawson, Burk Parsons, Michael Reeves, and Derek Thomas will explore the history and legacy of the Reformation and explain how we must continue the work of the Reformers today.
We hope that you will be able to join us for this special event and the time of worship, study, and fellowship that it will offer.
