Intellectual Discipleship?
from Albert Mohler Sep 14, 2018 Category: Articles
A robust and rich model of Christian thinking—the quality of thinking that culminates in a God-centered worldview—requires that we see all truth as interconnected. Keep Reading

The Priority of Preaching
from Albert Mohler Aug 31, 2018 Category: Articles
Then Paul makes the point in verse 25 that the central purpose of ministry is the preaching of the Word. In the end, everything comes down to this. “Of this church, I was made a minister according to the stewardship from God bestowed on me for your benefit, so that I might fully carry out the preaching of the Word of God” (emphasis added). The words “the preaching of” are not in the original language, but are inserted in some translations, and I believe that is a legitimate insertion. It is clear that what Paul means is that the ministry of the Word of God is achieved by the proclamation, the teaching, and the preaching of the Word of God. Keep Reading

How Will We Live Now?
from Albert Mohler Jul 27, 2018 Category: Articles
The year 1976 continues to reverberate throughout evangelical Christianity. The towering giants of the evangelical world at that time seemed to see our world in increasingly hopeful terms. The urgent cultural crises of the 1960s appeared to be in recession. Keep Reading

Parenting and the Cultural Pressure to Conform
from Albert Mohler Jun 08, 2018 Category: Articles
The cultural pressure to conform just isn’t as new as we think. Many evangelicals want to think it’s new today. All of a sudden a lot of evangelical churches and parents think we now have to break glass because we face an emergency. Guess what? Go back to Canaan. All those parents were panicking—how in the world are we going to be faithful in this? Well, how in the world did a Christian mom send her 15-year-old son through the streets of Rome past public orgies in order to bring back bread? Somehow, Christian parents had to be faithful in Rome, and Israel’s parents had to be faithful in Canaan, and now Christian parents have to be faithful in the Rome/Canaan in which we live today. from Albert Mohler May 30, 2018 Category: Articles
"The twentieth century, it is safe to say, has made us all into deep historical pessimists." So observed Francis Fukuyama in his seminal 1992 book, The End of History and the Last Man Keep Reading

Why Controversy Is Sometimes Necessary
from Albert Mohler Mar 12, 2018 Category: Articles
I recently watched as a young mother acted quickly and decisively to end a squabble among two preschool boys. She acted righteously and quite effectively, and then she turned to her two charges and set down the law: "It is never right to fight." Keep Reading

Must Christians Believe in the Virgin Birth?
from Albert Mohler Dec 21, 2017 Category: Articles
With December 25 fast approaching, the secular media are sure to turn their interest once again to the virgin birth. Every Christmas, weekly news magazines and various editorialists engage in a collective gasp that so many Americans could believe such an unscientific, supernatural doctrine. For some, the belief that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin is nothing less than evidence of intellectual dimness. One writer for the New York Times put the lament plainly: "The faith in the Virgin Birth reflects the way American Christianity is becoming less intellectual and more mystical over time." The Antidote to Anemic Worship
from Albert Mohler Dec 04, 2017 Category: Articles
Evangelical Christians have been especially attentive to worship in recent years, sparking a renaissance of thought and conversation on what worship really is and how it should be done. Even if this renewed interest has unfortunately resulted in what some have called the "worship wars" in some churches, it seems that what A.W. Tozer once called the "missing jewel" of evangelical worship is being recovered. Keep Reading

The Mystery of the Gospel
from Albert Mohler Nov 10, 2017 Category: Articles
The essential content of Christian preaching, Paul says, is the mystery of the gospel. He writes that the preaching of the Word of God is seen in "the mystery which has been hidden from the past ages and generations, but has now been manifested to His saints" (Col. 1:26). A mystery? Keep Reading

Do We Trust the Bible to Tell Us Truthfully What God Commands?
from Albert Mohler Aug 25, 2017 Category: Articles
Why not just join the revolution? This question seems obvious to many people who look at conservative Christians and honestly wonder why we cannot just change our views on homosexuality, same-sex marriage, and the entire constellation of LGBT issues. We are constantly told that we must abandon the clear teachings of the Bible in order to get “on the right side of history.” Keep Reading
