Thomas Prince was born in Sandwich, MA and graduated from Harvard in
1709, where he had a reputation for being "pious." He traveled for two
years in the West Indies and Europe, and preached in England before
returning to Massachusetts in 1717. He accepted a call to co-pastor Boston’s
Old South Church with Joseph Sewall, where he was ordained in 1718 and
remained until his death.
He was among those who invited George Whitefield to preach in boston.
He was a great lover of books. His most memorable work was A
Chronological History of New England. Prince died in 1758.
