 James Pierrpont was born in Roxbury MA in 1660. He graduated from
Harvard College in 1681 and pastored the church at New Haven CT from
1685-1714. His first two wives died, and his third wife was the grand-daughter
of Thomas Hooker. His daughter Sarah married Jonathan Edwards.
Pierrpont was the leading figure in the founding of Yale College, and
was one of its original trustees |
