Daniel Featley's father was the cook to the head of Corpus Christi
College, Cambridge. Featley himself was educated at Corpus Christi,
receiving both is B. A. and M. A. degrees there. He was a zealous and capable
opponent of Roman Catholicism, and was not afraid to debate Romanists
(particularly Jesuits) at any opportunity. He was fearless in attacking
that false system of religion, but was equally eager to take on the
Anabaptists. Though none of his writings have been reprinted, two of his
titles speak to his thoughts on those two subjects: The Dippers Dip't
(against the Baptists) and The Fisher Caught in His Own Net (against the
Romanists).
