Isaac Ambrose

Isaac Ambrose was the son of a clergyman, and was born in May 1604. He graduated from Brazen-Nose College in 1624 with a B. A. degree. Most of his ministry took place in Lancashire. He sided with the Presbyterians in their form of church government, and was a non-conformist all his life. Few details of his life and ministry are available, but it is said that he "was a man of substantial worth, eminent piety, and lived an exemplary life, both as a minister and a clergyman." The night before he died, he finished his final work, A Discourse Concerning Angels. A few of Ambrose's works have been reprinted: Looking Unto Jesus (Sprinkle Publications) The Christian Warrior (Soli Deo Gloria)
