Thomas Brightman was born at Nottinham, and was educated at Queen’s College, Oxford, where he received the degrees of B. A., M. A., and B. D. by 1591. He was pastor at Hawnes in Bedfordshire. Brightman was known as “a master of apocalyptic mysteries,” and wrote commentaries on Daniel and Revelation. He never married, and died in 1607 after fainting during a coach ride. |
