 George Abbot was born at Guildsord in 1562. Both of his parents were staunch Protestants. At the age of 16 he entered Balliol College, Oxford. He spent many years in study at Oxford, finally receiving his Doctor of Divinity degree. He was thoroughly Reformed and a “good old Puritan.” |
