Soli Deo Gloria Books and Future Puritan Titles

We are delighted to announce that Soli Deo Gloria Publications, which has put numerous Puritan books back into print, has been acquired by Reformation Heritage Books in Grand Rapids, Michigan. For the past few years, Soli Deo Gloria books have been produced by Ligonier Ministries in Orlando, Florida. In 2007, Ligonier asked Reformation Heritage Books for guidance on managing Soli Deo Gloria Publications and later invited Reformation Heritage Books to publish and distribute the Soli Deo Gloria titles.

Reformation Heritage Books has received nearly 50,000 Soli Deo Gloria books that are currently in print, and we are ready to distribute them to individuals. Plans are under way to publish numerous additional Puritan titles. Reformation Heritage Books has agreed to continue publishing a select number of titles under the Soli Deo Gloria imprint, which Ligonier will continue to advertise in its catalogs; meanwhile, most Soli Deo Gloria titles will now be reprinted with the Reformation Heritage Books imprint. Reformation Heritage Books and Ligonier Ministries look forward to collaborating in order to promote Puritan literature around the world.

To be placed on the mailing list for catalogs that include all the Soli Deo Gloria titles (as well as 3,000 titles from other publishers) currently available at discounted prices, contact Reformation Heritage Books, 2965 Leonard N.E., Grand Rapids, Michigan 49525; 616-977-0599; orders@heritagebooks.org; www.heritagebooks.org. Wisdom Worth Seeking
Soli Deo Gloria Publications became a division of Ligonier Ministries in 2004. It began publishing works from the English and American Puritans in 1988, and it has continued since then with that vision. We have published over 250 titles since then, averaging almost fifteen new titles per year. It is our goal to reprint as many works as we can by these godly preachers of the Word.

Soli Deo Gloria (Latin for "glory to God alone") is committed to bringing back into print books that have been unavailable for centuries. We re-typeset these books from their original format, slightly modernize the spelling, grammar, and formatting (no abridging), trying to make the books more accessible and readable.

The late Dr. John Gerstner, mentor to Dr. R.C. Sproul, once stated that the Puritans constituted the most godly movement the church has had since the days of the apostles themselves. They agreed, and that is why we have made these men our focus. Some of our authors are already well known (Jonathan Edwards, Thomas Watson, Jeremiah Burroughs). Others were well known in their own day but are obscure three centuries later (Obadiah Sedgwick, James Durham, Richard Alleine, and many others). Our aim is to reintroduce these men and their writings to today's believers who seek to know God more fully and more accurately.

"Soli Deo Gloria seeks God's glory through bringing to light neglected but invaluable works from the Puritans, a people who sought God's glory above all else. These are treasures of our heritage,"  said R.C. Sproul. To help you provide a spiritual heirloom for your family, our books are printed on acid-free paper and use Smyth-sewn bindings rather than glued. This gives them a shelf life of between 200-300 years.
