Biblical preaching has been a hallmark of healthy churches since the time of the Apostles and expansion of the early church. In this session, Dr. Haykin will consider the contributions of some of the great preachers in the early church and evaluate what lessons can be drawn for the church today.

Living God’s Word: The Life of Augustine

Augustine is one of the greatest theologians of the early church and one of the most important thinkers in western civilization. In this session, Dr. Nichols will consider his doctrine of Scripture by focusing on his expositions of the Psalms and draw application concerning how the life of Augustine can instruct Christians in their study of Scripture.

God’s Word in the Early Church

Many people are uncertain about the origin of the New Testament and how it was received by the early church, especially when discoveries of "lost gospels" frequent headlines. In this session, Dr. Kruger will consider the development of the biblical canon and explain why this issue is important for defending the authority and inerrancy of Scripture.
