A Time for Confidence

We are experiencing a time of rapid cultural change and moral confusion. Some refer to our current moment as a post-Christian culture. It is also, however, a time for confidence. This session will remind us that we must put our confidence in God and in His sure and eternal Word.

A Living Hope

Many people place their hope in things that cannot meet their needs such as sports, politics, education, work, or even family and friends. This session will focus on 1 Peter 1:1–8 to explain what it means to be "born again" and why only the gospel of Jesus Christ provides true, lasting hope for Christians.

A Holy Nation

The Christian life is a pilgrim life. As followers of Christ, we are citizens of another land. This place is not our home, but we are traveling from this world to the next. This session will focus on 1 Peter 2:9–12 to explain what it means for the church to be "sojourners and exiles."

A Reasonable Faith

The most urgent need today is for people to be awakened to their need of the gospel. Although many reject Christ, the Bible gives sound reasons for believing the Christian faith. This session will focus on 1 Peter 3:8–18 to explain what it means to defend the faith with gentleness and respect, noting especially the role of prayer in evangelism.

A Hard Life

The biblical message of salvation does not guarantee peace and prosperity in this life. The Bible clearly teaches that many Christians will experience suffering. This session will focus on 1 Peter 4:14–19 to explain what it means to endure hardship and trials in the Christian life.

A Glorious Future

One of the greatest motivations for faithfulness in the present is a realization of what lies ahead in the future. This session will focus on 1 Peter 5:1–11 to explain how the "eternal glory in Christ" not only provides the basis for eternal life but also the foundation for perseverance and godliness in life and ministry.
