Being a Christian in a Post-Christian Culture
This world—in its present condition—is not our home. Scripture reminds us of this truth again and again, exhorting us to look to heaven and to consider ourselves as strangers and exiles on the earth (Heb. 11:13). As wonderful as life can be in this fallen world, there is something better in store for God's people.
As we watch the culture around us grow more hostile to the traditional teachings of orthodox, biblical Christianity, our awareness that our home is elsewhere gets stronger. Yet that doesn't mean we can leave this world behind. Christ has called us to be His witnesses even in our post-Christian culture, and we must be prepared to live as salt and light in the midst of our generation.
To help believers learn what it means to be a witness in this world, Ligonier Ministries is hosting our West Coast Conference, "Overcoming the World: Being a Christian in a Post-Christian Culture." On June 6–7, 2014, Drs. Steven Lawson, Stephen Meyer, Albert Mohler, and R.C. Sproul Jr. will be joining me in Seattle as we cover modern challenges to the Christian and how we may effectively witness to the truth in a society that seems determined to overthrow every connection to its Christian heritage.
Please consider joining us for this conference in June. I look forward to enjoying this time of worship, teaching, fellowship, and prayer together with you.
Before the conference begins, join Michael Morales, R.C. Sproul, and R.C. Sproul Jr., May 30 — June 6, for a time of study in Alaska. As a bonus for traveling with us you will receive complimentary admission to the conference. Early bird pricing for the Alaska Study Cruise ends November 26. Learn more.
