I wanted to let you know about an exciting learning and fellowship opportunity that will focus on the history of Christianity and its impact on the United States. Ligonier Ministries is hosting a New England study tour this fall, and we hope that you can join us as we consider the personalities, events, and places that have shaped Christianity in America.
Our 2014 New England Study Tour: Following the Reformation to America will be held September 25–October 3, 2014. Beginning in Boston and ending in Philadelphia, we will see important sites such as Salem, Provincetown, and Cape Cod in Massachusetts; Princeton and Yale Universities; Independence Hall in Philadelphia; and many others. Along the way, we will also consider the lives and ministries of figures such as George Whitefield and Jonathan Edwards; the shaping influence of Christian ideas on the Founding Fathers of the United States; the theology of B.B. Warfield, Charles Hodge, and other Princetonians; among others.
Ligonier Teaching Fellows Drs. Steven J. Lawson and Stephen Nichols will be our tour leaders, and you are in for a real treat in hearing their theological and historical reflections on the role of Christianity—and the Reformed tradition in particular—in the establishment of the United States. Additionally, you will receive complimentary registration to attend our Regional Conference in Philadelphia on October 3-4 immediately after the tour where we will be addressing the topic, "The Truth of the Cross."
We hope that you will seriously consider joining us for this trip as we deepen relationships, enjoy fellowship, and learn together. Vesta and I also hope to attend the tour, health permitting.
Space is limited, so you'll want to reserve your spot as soon as possible if you plan to attend. Sovereign Experiences will be facilitating our trip. They will handle all reservations and other necessary arrangements. Please contact them to reserve your space at 877-661-6458 ext. 100. Thank you.
