The Goal of Spiritual Growth
The amount of effort that we put into our Christian growth will be wasted unless we are working toward clear goals. Such goals are necessary if real progress is to be made. The ultimate goal and purpose of the Christian life is to be holy as God is holy. Having this as our goal focuses our work towards spiritual growth.

Priorities of Righteousness
As Christians, we must take care that our lives speak well of Him whose name we bear. We have responsibilities as representatives of Jesus Christ. The number one priority of all Christians is to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. We are to glorify God in the practice of righteousness. |

Assurance of Salvation
A vital foundation for spiritual growth is assurance of salvation, but there is a difference between genuine assurance and false assurance. In order to understand assurance, Christians must understand the difference between justification and sanctification, and they must understand the difference between the conviction of the Holy Spirit and the accusations of Satan.

Love as a Fruit of the Spirit
In 1 Corinthians 13, Paul describes the characteristics of biblical love. It is the foundation on which all of the fruit of the Spirit rests. Love acknowledges God’s glory and honor and submits to His rule. Love also inclines us to desire what is good for our neighbor, disposes us toward contentment, and restrains all bitterness. |

Joy & Peace
Joy is grounded in the Christian’s celebration of Christ’s victory. Christians rejoice because their names are written in heaven. Because we have been saved, Christians can have peace with others and with ourselves. The peace the Christian has is a peace that passes all understanding. |

Fruit of the Spirit
Love, joy, and peace are not the only fruits that are demonstrated in the lives of Christians. The fruits of the Spirit include patience and kindness, goodness and faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things, Paul tells us, there is no law. |
