Bread from Heaven
from R.C. Sproul Feb 16, 2011 Category: R.C. Sproul
Jesus teaches us to pray that God would give us daily bread. Obviously Jesus was not telling His disciples to pray only for bread. But bread was a staple in the diet of the Jews, and had been so for many years. Furthermore, bread was a powerful symbol of God’s provision for His people in the Old Testament.

Waiting in Faith
from R.C. Sproul Feb 13, 2011 Category: R.C. Sproul
When Abraham arrived in Canaan, it was by no means a great nation. But he dwelt there, living in tents. God may have prepared a mansion for him in heaven, but in Canaan all he had was a tent. The only parcel of Canaan he ever actually owned was his burial plot. Keep Reading -
Putting Faith into Action
from R.C. Sproul Jan 30, 2011 Category: R.C. Sproul
The author of Hebrews defines faith as “the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Heb. 11:1). Faith fills the vacuum of hope. Hope, when coupled with faith, has substance, and substance is something rather than nothing. Keep Reading -

Priorities
from R.C. Sproul Jan 24, 2011 Category: R.C. Sproul
When I first became a Christian I was introduced to the priorities of the Christian community. I learned quickly that it was expected of me that I have a daily devotion time, a time reserved for Bible reading and prayer. I was expected to go to church. I was expected to have a kind of piety that was evident by not cursing, not drinking, not smoking, and the like. I had no idea that biblical righteousness went far beyond these things. Keep Reading -
The Sanctity of Life

Whenever a potential nominee to the Supreme Court of the United States is vetted by the Senate, questions will invariably arise regarding that individual’s opinion on the landmark Roe v. Tender Grace
from R.C. Sproul Jan 17, 2011 Category: R.C. Sproul
"I see men like trees, walking" (Mark 8:24). What a strange experience. Walking trees are not a normal sight for normal people. But the man who saw "walking trees" was a man in transition. He was at an intermediate stage between total blindness and full clarity of vision. He was, as we shall see, a representative of all Christians in their progress toward pleasing God. Keep Reading -
Moving Out in Faith
from R.C. Sproul Jan 16, 2011 Category: R.C. Sproul
Abraham went to a far country at the bidding of God. He was not young and foolish. He was advanced in years, being seventy-five years old when God said to him: “Get out of your country, from your family and from your father’s house, to a land that I will show you” (Gen. 12:1). Keep Reading -
Partial Knowledge
from R.C. Sproul Jan 14, 2011 Category: Articles
We live in a culture that is a quick and dirty culture. We want to become mature Christians in five easy lessons. We want to become saints by fifteen minutes a day. We want to have flat stomachs and strong abs by three workouts a week. That may work over a given period of time for your abs, but it’s not going to work for your soul. Attending the school of God takes time and labor and energy and deeply committing oneself to prayer, to the study of Scripture, to fellowship with other believers, to ministry within the life of the church.
