Does God exist? We often hear of others and may even find ourselves struggling from time to time with this ultimate question. Amazing Grace: The History and Theology of Calvinism
from Karisa Schlehr Jun 22, 2010 Category: Ligonier Resources
Any mention of the word "Calvinism" provokes a number of questions, discussions, objections, and realizations. What is “Calvinism?” Does this teaching make man a deterministic robot and God the author of sin? What about free will? If the church accepts Calvinism, won’t evangelism be stifled, perhaps even extinguished? How can we balance God’s sovereignty and man’s responsibility? Why did the Roman Catholic Church condemn the Reformed teaching of predestination and election and embrace free will theology? And why do so many Protestants, perhaps unwittingly, agree with Rome on this issue? Amazing Grace: The History and Theology of Calvinism, a DVD and study guide produced by The Apologetics Group, is the first video documentary that answers these and other related questions. from Karisa Schlehr May 24, 2010 Category: Ligonier Resources
"The doctrine of election isn't fair." "Doesn't God give us free will?" "What about John 3:16?" "Why would God save some and not all?" In his book and teaching series, Chosen by God, Dr. Sproul carefully explains the meaning of God’s sovereignty in the work of redemption and shows how it relates to the will of man. He shows why all serious Christians cannot afford to ignore this important biblical doctrine, but instead should embrace God’s initiative in Salvation. Keep Reading -
