When Ligonier Ministries first began, it was a place. A destination. A refuge for devoted learners and passionate followers of Christ. Ligonier quickly grew to become an organization with international scope, but its origin was as a place of study and fellowship centered on the teaching of Dr. R.C. Sproul. Ligonier Academy of Biblical & Theological Studies will once again provide a destination for study, fellowship, and collegial interaction essential to our goal to further equip Christians to know what they believe, why they believe it, how to live it, and how to share it. A long time ago, Dr. Sproul saw the need to offer an accessible, practical bridge of learning for the growing Christian, and Ligonier Ministries was born.

That vision is no less important today. We know that when the Bible is taught clearly, God will be seen in all of His majesty and holiness, hearts will be conquered, minds renewed, and communities transformed.

Live in the Word. Live out the Gospel.
Our hope is for Ligonier Ministries to serve for many years as a trusted resource to help stimulate conviction and courage among believers. We are excited about the future because we serve a great and sovereign God, and we know what we are called to do. The Academy at its new campus in Orlando will directly serve clergy that are interested in ongoing education beyond their seminary. As a destination committed to training Christ’s servants to live in the Word and live out the Gospel, we want to build a learning environment that prepares Christ-followers for real-world ministry. We know that reformation in the church is not only possible, but also promised by the Lord, and we believe that by providing a place for study, fellowship and collegial interaction, Ligonier Ministries will maintain its intellectual edge and theological prowess and we can more effectively teach biblical Christianity to a new generation of reformers.
