CELEBRATING 35 YEARS OF MINISTRY
2006 marks a significant milestone for Ligonier Ministries — 35 years of ministry. In 1971 Dr. Sproul pursued a call to ministry in western Pennsylvania, where he founded the Ligonier Valley Study Center. The center was established as a biblical and theological resource for Christians in the Pittsburgh area, but it quickly grew to reach students throughout the country.
Due to increasing ministry opportunities, the board of directors recognized the need to expand; thus, in 1984 they decided to move the ministry to Orlando, Florida. The move to central Florida has provided many fruitful years of ministry, with many exciting opportunities to come. Dr. Sproul remains active within the ministry and currently serves as senior minister of preaching and teaching at Saint Andrew's Chapel in Sanford, Florida.
REFORMATION TRUST PUBLISHING
For many years it has been a dream that we would one day be able to start our own publishing outreach. That dream has recently become a reality. Ligonier Ministries is pleased to announce a new publishing division: Reformation Trust Publishing.
Reformation Trust Publishing will produce theologically solid and practical books true to the historic Christian faith from Dr. R.C. Sproul and the best of today's contemporary authors and theologians. The first book was released this summer, Dr Sproul's newest title on principles of worship, A Taste of Heaven. Next in line to release this fall is Foundations of Grace, by Dr. Steven Lawson. This book is the first in a series of five, entitled A Long Line of Godly Men, which will trace the unbroken line of men who throughout history have taught the foundational truths of God's sovereign grace.
Dr. Sproul's latest children's book, The Lightlings, is a delightful allegory with beautiful illustrations that tells the story of the fall of man and the redemption of God's people by Jesus Christ.
Reformation Trust, in accordance with the highest standards in publishing, will seek to be a trusted resource for pastors and lay people as they seek to build their libraries with essential Christian literature.
LIGONIER MINISTRIES LAUNCHES NEW & IMPROVED WEB SITE
This fall Ligonier Ministries launched a new website including a variety of new features and resources. The new site has already received excellent feedback and has increased traffic significantly over the previous year. Some of the features added to the website include: a media center that allows visitors to listen to and watch the Renewing Your Mind broadcasts, answers by Dr. Sproul to hundreds of common questions concerning the Christian life, and an improved store.
